This was the other famous publishing company in the Netherlands and a little bit behind its big competitor Bonnist & Zonen.
Unfortunately little is known about Jospe. And on the internet I couldn't find anything either about the history of that Dutch company. It's only well known that they were successfully publishing their postcards in the pre war aera.
As I found out (in collaboration with all my collecting friends) Jospe edited 53 different Garbo postcards. A big difference to Ross is the fact that the Dutch company didn't release any other formats, just the regular postcard size (14x9 cm). And you won't find any colorized motifs. But the cards themselves appeared in two different layouts, first in the dark sepia brown., later in the light version.
Both versions are available in the production, longish and horizontal cards.
The card numbers are clearly visible on the front side of each card, left or right edge. The reverse sides of the cards are totally blank. It's a little bit strange that you don't get a hint about the publisher. The name Jospe doesn't appear at all.
Because I am still missing some Jospe cards, I would be grateful if you could help illustrating our list in case you should posess cards we couldn't show yet. Further information about that Dutch publishing company would be highly appreciated.
Have fun with Jospe!
