As you could read in my general introduction about the history of postcards, they have also been invented to honor unforgettable human beings of the past and to pass on their fame for the posterity.
No wonder that a star like Garbo has become a big icon for edited postcards.
The first Garbo cards came out in the 20=ies, probably 1924. My very first card is from 1924 and portrays Greta with Lars Hanson in GÖSTA BERLINGS SAGA (Axel Eljassons Konstförlag). The last ones are modern and appeared these days. It is for sure that Greta Garbo belongs to the most frequent celebrities ever pictured on postcards.
I have been collecting for more than 20 years now and am proud to posess more than 1300 postcards, art sheets and collecting cards (tobacco cards not included). Because I am still looking for a lot of missing items, it is evident that there have been published more than 1600 different Garbo cards worldwide.
As a passionate collector I do have reliable sources and especially true collector friends. Without their incredible help and assistance I wouldn't have been able to create a stock- and accordingly wish list.

Greta Garbo and her postcards, a fascinating subject since more than 80 years.
That's why I have the inclination to invest all my efforts to publish all the postcards honoring Greta. It was the chance of my life to become a member of this wonderful Garbo Homepage here, the best one ever. And it was another lucky chance to meet our webmasters TJ and John. TJ is a collector himself and understands me so well. And he is the only one who can assist me in producing those wonderful lists and compilations in full perfection. TJ, I am proud of you!
