A fragment of The Divine Woman, never seen before!

News from Italy.

I've just read that, some months ago, it was found a fragment of The Divine Woman, never seen before!!!!!!!

It's a kiss between GG and Hanson... a dangerous kiss, says the magazine, because it's on nitrate film that's extremely flammable. It has been reprinted and it will be screened on 5th October at The Pordenone Silent Film Festival.

Richard Williams realized a 30-second trailer for the festival. Every frame is a drawing on paper (no computers). In the film, not yet online, he animated many of the great actors and comedians in silent films – morphing one into another – beginning with Chaplin and ending with Buster Keaton, including GG.

Garbo on new Swedish BANKNOTE

Greta will be part of Sweden’s new banknotes and coins. Among other like famous Swedish legends Astrid Lindgren and Ingmar Bergman, they will be the motifs on Sweden’s new banknotes.

The General Council of the Riksbank in Sweden made that decision.

Several motives were made by artist Göran Österlund

 
 
 

Garbo will be on the 100 kr banknote. While on the back we will see the wonderful landscape of Stockholm.

Melina Mercouri Was Hot For Greta Garbo

In the '70s, Greek actress Melina Mercouri played the girlfriend of Alexis Smith in the rivetingly trashy Once Is Not Enough--a lesbian love affair that some say was based on one between Greta Garbo and socialite Barbara Hutton. But in real life, it was Garbo herself who Melina would have switched teams for.

In her memoir I Was Born Greek, Melina revealed:

"The physical love of woman for woman is something I can understand, intellectually--Sappho was one of our islanders. I'm ready to accept that it can be beautiful, but it's something that I have not known or felt--except for Garbo.

But I also know that she is beyond any one sex, and that it is perfectly in order for man, woman, and child to react erotically towards Garbo. She is the essence and the ultimate of all sex."
