Garbo's fave Whiskey

Garbo liked whiskey and "Cutty Sark" was her favorite brand of whiskey while she lived in New York.

    

Cutty Sark is a range of blended Scotch whiskies, owned by Berry Brothers & Rudd, the London wine and spirits merchant.

The whiskey was created on March 20 1923, with the home of the blend considered to be at Glenrothes distillery, in the Scottish Highlands.

Her childhood hero's

Garbo's teenager's favorites were  Swedish opera star Naima Wifstrand. She was a popular star of light opera.

Garbo also fell in love with a dashing young danish boxer turned singer Carl Brisson. Brisson, was  her first matinee idol.

Hildegard Knef music

As you might have read Greta loved the voice of Hildegard Knef (who had a longtime friendship with Marlene Dietrich by the way!). One LP was found in Greta's estate.

It is said that Garbo waxed lyrical about Michael Jackson in an almost girlishly adoring way.

“He is a handsome and so musical, I never miss seeing him on television if I can help it. What a star he is!”

Barbara Streisand - American superstar

According to Joe Lombardo, Garbo was a vocal admirer of Barbara Streisand's work as the producer, director, cowriter and star of Yentl.

“My God, I've never seen such a picture!” she commented enthusiastically. “That's the most talented woman that I've ever known or ever heard about.”

 

Shin Kabuki master - Japanese artist

Nakamura Kanzaburô XVIII is a Japanese actor active in kabuki, other forms of live theatre, television and commercials. Kanzaburô is a versatile actor whose credits include farce, period pieces, and Shin Kabuki.

Nakamura Kanzaburo XVII first performed in the United States in 1960. "Love, love, love," legend says Greta Garbo telegraphed after the performance.
