Every serious memorabilia collector will get involved with a special kind of material: Tobacco cards. It's the oldest form of collecting paper work on a continuity form. The first cards came out in 1872, edited by the German company Liebig. The biggest aera for those collectibles was in the 30s and 40s. Germany was the leading market. It was a clever marketing concept for customer retention. People got a reward when they bought a special cigarette sort, pretty little cards which could be collected and get glued in special albums. Many subjects were available and especially movie stars had been a profitable genre. No wonder that a divine star like Greta Garbo had been published in some hundred different issues. Today those tobacco card albums are rare and precious collector subjects. We are proud to present a huge amount of nice Garbo cards. Enjoy them!
