Mimi and Greta in the Dramaten School



Introduction

The Dramaten is the Royal Swedish Dramatic Theatre school. It is mostly known in Sweden as Dramaten. In 1922, Greta left the PUB to film her first feature film Luffar- Petter. Her director Erik Petschler advised Greta to do an audition for a scholarship at the Dramaten School and had been accepted.

Greta became good friend with her student colleagues. Her best friends were Mona Mårtenson, Vera Schmiterlöw and Mimi Pollak. Mimi was a second-year student later a popular member of the Royal Dramatic repertory company and one of its directors. “When she did join in, she was gay, fun, and full of mischief but never spoke of her family,” Mimi about Greta.
