My Nan liked Garbo as a girl and had collected pictures and cards with her pictures.She showed me them and told me about her then I like her as well. Nan died but left me her Garbo pictures and I got the Garbo box set in 2005.

About 4 1/2 years ago while browsing a second hand book store--I saw a copy of The Divine Garbo by Frederick Sand, I took it home and read it twice in a matter of days and fell under the spell of Miss G.

After reading a couple of more books on her I was ready to watch my first movie. I decided to make the first viewing a silent film, so I chose Flesh and the Devil ... what an impact that had on me....seeing her in motion and seeing that peerless face emote.

The Single Standard and Wild Orchids
 

Are you also fascinated by her real life personality?
Oh yes, most definitely......Miss G`s life has many lessons to learn from for my own outlook on life in many respects......her private life is endlessly  enchanting.

She was a true natural as a comedian.....what a display of her ability as in  Ninotchka..... she could have done even more levels of it had she been given an opportunity to do so.

Miss G taught them all a new way to portray womanhood and femininity on the silver screen.....any actress that has come along through all the decades that have since past, should have done themselves a great service and sat down and watch GG`s films and watch the technical skills that this woman possessed, and then just wish they had been born with an exotic screen presence even half the magnitude she conveyed

What is your favourite Garbo style?
The period when she made the movie Inspiration and Susan Lennox .... Her physical evolvement during these years is the perfect cross between a mature woman and a little girl....all in one face and body, all at the same time.....total feminine magic!
 

What is your favourite Garbo co-star?
Overall, I would guess it would be Melvyn Douglas......though I prefer to see her with a more masculine counterpart like Clark Gable or George Brent.

Which Garbo Film do you dislike?
Though I adore her in everything, I would say that the film that moves me the least is Romance .... it just never seems to soar at any point.

Probably Gavin Gordon.

For sheer screen radiance and demonstrating the high art of how to be fey and coy all at once, it would have to be Inspiration... for her finest, transcendent acting I would have to say Camille, and  then Queen Christina.
