In 1995, I saw the wonderful Swedish Doku Film Garbo on TV. I was hypnotized.

Camille (USA 1936), watching it with my grand-mother, in sommer 1989.

Sometimes even more than with her “professional” life. Garbo “taught” me to look more inside myself.

Absolutely! I belive that she had true comedian talent for Pantomimic.

She was something new when she came out. I belive that even today female actress try to copy her aura.

Her late 1940s image. Very natural and casual. Like she looked on her screen-test 1949. Also, I love her look from the famous press conference 1938. Classic Garbo.

Melvyn Douglas. He was charming and sympatic.

On the day i heard that she died.... something captured me and i was completley in "Garbo Fever".
Your first Garbo experience?
In the mid 1980s i bought the german book The Divine Garbo by F. Sands and S. Broman. I started reading it in late 1989.

Yes, because she was so honest and down to earth and always loyal to herself.

I think she really had much humor. You can see it even in her dramas. Look closey at Romance and Queen Christina.

Her amazing minimalistic acting style is still the biggest inspiration for todays actresses. Garbo always was a leader.

1980. On her 75th Birthday, i saw the last scenes of Queen Christina, i was captured from the first second. Since this day, i never missed when a Garbo film was on TV.

For me, the privat life of an beloved actress can't be seperated from her professional life. Both sides of her personality are fascinating.

Without doubt she had very much comedian talent. Sadly, she was mostly cast in dramtic parts.I belive that if she didn't stop filming movies, we would have had the pleasure to see her in more comedy films. She had the talent to turn into a female Charlie Chaplin.

She affected all actresses who followed. Consciously or unconsciously. Especially those who played the parts in the same genre as Garbo.

Flesh and the Devil, I lost my silent film virginity to that film.

This is a hard one but I think Queen Christina but I also love Camille.
